Our Forest City Water Polo youth competitive programs are intended for those who have already gained a familiarity and some proficiency with water polo. We work hard, play hard, and come together as a team to learn, improve and win!
Our competitive athletes practice at least twice a week from September 15 to late May 2026, and attend a number of tournaments in Ontario over the course of the season (and occasionally elsewhere in Canada if we win Provincials), where we compete with other teams across Ontario and Canada. Please note, tournament entry fees are not included in the pricing (and typically range from $125-$175 per athlete and tournament).
Has a session already started? No problem – space permitting, we welcome new members at any time during the season!
NEW for 2026: We have partnered with Enhanced BJJ to offer our athletes Jiu-Jitsu classes. This will help them learn how to move their bodies, and grapple outside the pool. There will be a coach to walk the athletes from Enhanced BJJ to the downtown YMCA.

Athletes as young as U15 (born in 2011/12) and older who are part of the National Development Centres are eligible for consideration for Team Ontario water polo. Forest City Water Polo nominates eligible athletes who we feel are ready to meet the requirements to be part of the team. These nominations go to Ontario Water Polo, who then assesses and offers spots to athletes based on their performance at published evaluation events throughout the season.
If an athlete is in consideration, a coach will approach the athlete and their family for a discussion. If you have any questions about this consideration process or your athlete, please connect with their coach.
